Ngizwe Mchunu’s legal team is demanding that EFF MP Hlengiwe Mkhaliphi retract and publicly apologise for allegedly claiming that he is funded by “white monopoly capital” to disrupt the EFF.
According to the legal demand, Mkhaliphi allegedly failed to provide evidence to support the claim.
This is now bigger than a political insult. It has become a fight over proof, reputation and public statements.
Mchunu has been on the receiving end of strong political attacks from the EFF side, including threats of legal action. Now his camp appears to be using the same approach: if serious claims are made in public, they must be backed by evidence.
The issue is simple. If someone claims a public figure is being funded to destabilise a political party, that is a serious allegation. Without proof, it becomes a reputational attack.
Mkhaliphi is now being asked to withdraw the statement and apologise publicly.
In simple terms: Ngizwe is no longer just responding politically. He is taking the fight through lawyers.
