A 21-year-old woman accused of posing as a medical practitioner at St Andrews Hospital in Harding has been released on warning.

She appeared in the Harding Magistrate’s Court on May 21 after being charged with impersonating a medical practitioner.

Police say the woman allegedly used a doctor’s coat to take photos inside the hospital.

The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health said hospital management contacted police after the woman failed to explain her alleged placement and duties.

The department said she did not treat or interact with any patients.
